St Gregorios Society Malankara Fund

Over the last two decades, St Tikhon’s Seminary has fulfilled an essential role in educating and forming many exceptional clergy for the Malankara Indian Orthodox Church.

Members of The St Gregorios Society sustain this sacred partnership by generously sponsoring the Baselios Mathews Scholarship Fund, named in honor of His Holiness, Baselios Marthoma Mathews III, Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan. This scholarship underwrites the tuition and related educational costs for Malankara Indian seminarians enrolled at St Tikhon’s.

St Gregorios Society members can contribute to the scholarship in two ways:

  • By making an annual gift, either a one-time or recurring monthly contribution
  • By establishing an endowment to help perpetuate the scholarship.

Annual or Recurring Gifts

A one-time or recurring annual gift can be made HERE. Each semester the seminary distributes annual gifts from society members as scholarships to Malankara Indian Orthodox seminarians enrolled in good standing in our Master of Divinity program.

Endowment
A scholarship endowment establishes a perpetual, annual tuition scholarship for one seminarian. An endowment requires a minimum gift or pledge of $250,000 to provide sufficient investment income to fund the scholarship while preserving the principal amount. Pledges can be fulfilled by payments of $50,000 or more.

Giving Options
Society members can give to the Baselios Mathews Scholarship Fund in a variety of ways, including cash, checks, credit cards, stocks, QCDs, and crypto. Please contact dean@stots.edu to discuss an endowment or ways of giving. To make a non-cash gift, please visit www.stots.edu/waystogive.
